Lemonade Productions was set up by 6 guys from the Vine Church in Dunfermline (www.thevinechurch.com) who wanted to bring a huge event to the capital of the nation for Christians and non Christians alike. With a drive for quality in all areas of the event the guys set about planning the first FRENZY event in June 2005. With co-headliners Delirous?, THIRD DAY and the Newsboys the festival attracted just over 5000 and became the largest Christian event in Scotland in its first year.
The positive feedback from the crowd at FRENZY05 encouraged the guys to knuckle down and pull together FRENZY06. Learning from the previous years experiences the guys ramped up the visuals, enhanced the sound and somehow managed to better the line up from 05. An incredible 7000 were enthralled by the likes of; STARFIELD, TREE63, David Crowder Band, Hillsong United and Delirious? Over 200 made a first time commitment to Christ at FRENZY06 and 39 children from the poorest countries in the world were sponsored through FRENZYs’ partnership charity Compassion (www.compassionuk.org) on the day. This made FRENZY the largest one day Christian music festival in the UK.
As we plan for FRENZY2007, expectations are high that this will be the year we break the 10,000 barrier. With yet another incredible line up we welcome to Scotland for the first time; Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin and LEELAND as well as welcoming back the Newsboys and Starfield amongst others. We want to encourage churches to use the event as part of their outreach strategy, a great way to introduce friends to Christianity.
One of the Lemo boys visited Haiti in January, against Foreign Office for safety reasons, to produce a DVD in conjunction with Compassion. This DVD will be shown at FRENZY to further highlight the plight of children in the third world. In 2007 Lemonade Productions aim to raise £20,000 to put a fresh water supply to a project on the island of Lagonarve just off the coast of Haiti. We are hopeful that many more than 39 children will be sponsored in the third world at FRENZY07. You really don’t want to miss out on FRENZY2007.
